Teachers,

There is a banner hanging in the front lobby for Bus Driver Appreciation Day next Monday the 19th.

Please bring your students up front (***with color markers, crayons or pens***) to sign this banner for the bus drivers. The last day to sign will be this Friday, Oct. 16th.

Thank you,

Benefits Open Enrollment

Just a reminder that the Insurance Open Enrollment began on Friday, October 9th and will end on November 10, 2009.  Beginning next Monday, October 19th, the benefit check-up meetings will begin and I will be sending out a reminder of the times at the end of the week.  The meetings will take place in my old office across from Josette.

In addition, don’t forget to log on to www.myfultonbenefits.com to find the Decision Guide for 2010.  Please note that you still have to re-enroll on line and answer the surcharge questions to be covered by health benefits for 2010.  I am not sure if the benefit representative will be assisting with health benefits at your meeting.   I just want you to know that you still need to log on and answer the questions and re-enroll by November 9thI ran off a Sample Decision Guide and premium sheet which is located on the round table in the front office for your convenience.

Also, it would be a good idea to run off what you already did in ESS and bring it with you to the meeting.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Subject: Promethean Training Update

I need your assistance in distributing Promethean training information to your staff.  Your assistance in sharing this information is greatly appreciated.

Since MyPDC is no longer available, please make sure all teachers know how to register for Promethean training.  This interim process will remain in place until the Enterprise Learning System is fully operational.  The link below is to the IT Training and Communications site where all Promethean training dates are listed.  If a teacher signed up for training before MyPDC was disabled, they do not need to register again.

The next available north county training is October 22, 2009 at Johns Creek HS and in south county on October 23, 2009 at the Westlake ITC.  There is space available in both classes.  Many additional dates are on the list as well.  Until the new ELS is up and running, all Promethean registration request should come to me (stewartj@fultonschools.org).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

NOTE:  Teachers attending training should come to class with the latest version of Activstudio software already installed.

Importance: High

Hello Everyone,

We are preparing to go live with the Enterprise Learning (ELS) functions in Employee Express for all employees. Enterprise Learning will replace MyPDC and it will go live on October 19, 2009.

Just like the ESS eLearning, the required training for this new ELS tool is available to you online! You can take the course at your own pace, when it is convenient to you. The course should take less than an hour of your time. We will be tracking completion of this course by individual employee. When you get to the end, you will see a link to a brief assessment. You must complete and submit the assessment in order to show you have taken the course.

ABSENCES: Reporting Procedures

As you know, we are all learning how to use the ESS system together. Several of you have learned more through trial and error.
Below are the steps to follow at this time in case you need to be absent from school.

                EXPECTED ABSENCES

  1. Talk with an administrator about the proposed absence. Do not just leave a message on a machine.

  1. Complete a leave form for all absences.  Be sure to check the reason (illness, jury, duty, personal, vacation, etc.) for the absence.
If the leave is for jury duty, you must attach a copy of the jury summons to the leave form.
All personal leave requests must be approved by the principal.

  1. Call/log into CASE and get a job number and a sub’s name.
Write the job number and the sub’s name on the leave form.
Put the leave form in Betty Swanson’s box for approval.

4.   Go into ESS and add the sub’s name and job number in the “comment” section on the date of your proposed absence.
Submit the absence electronically.  (DUTY LEAVE requests are not entered into ESS. Only complete the paper version)

5.       The ESS absence will go to Matt electronically to be approved or rejected.

  1. You will receive an e-mail from ESS indicating that the leave is either approved or rejected.

  1. If the leave is approved, pat yourself on the back! You have been approved to be absent.

  1. If the leave is rejected, read the reason for the rejection in the comment section and then start again.

UNEXPECTED ABSENCE

1.       Call Betty Swanson to notify her of your unexpected absence from work.

2.       If you are able, based on circumstances, call/log the absence into CASE as soon as possible in hopes that a substitute will pick up the job.

3.       Call or email your grade level chair to notify them about your absence.
